Vision technology and modular precision for flexible sorting of 3D prints
The challenge
AM-Flow, specialist in automation had a clear request: a fully modular sorting module for a wide variety of 3D printed products.
The deadline? Very short. The demands? High. In addition to speed and accuracy, the system had to be expandable, without compromising on design, security or ease of use.
In doing so, the system had to be globally deployable, with preparation for UL/CSA certification and a design in which no cable should be visible. An additional requirement was the freedom of choice between pneumatic or electric pushers - crucial for customers without a compressed air supply.
The solution
Sanders Machinebouw rapidly developed a prototype that integrated all requirements. The system is modular, allowing clients to start with six pushers and easily scale up as their production grows.
The sorting module is fully integrated with AM-Flow's AM-VISION technology, which automatically recognizes and sorts each 3D printed product. Thanks to its clever construction and finish, all cables are hidden away within the frame, providing a sleek and clean appearance.
The system can be controlled both pneumatically and electrically, providing maximum flexibility for a variety of customer environments. Functionality tests with real customer models showed that the system is not only fast and accurate, but also reliable and scalable.
